Agnes Meske Obituary (1928

Agnes Meske, 83, Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, Bismarck with Rev. Lester Wolfgram officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation is scheduled for 5-7:00 PM, Friday, January 6th at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church. Agnes was born September 13, 1928, at Zap, North Dakota, to Henry and Emma (Kessler) Murschel. She was raised and educated in Hazen, North Dakota. On July 4, 1947, she married Elmer Meske in Zap. Agnes was mostly a stay-at-home mom, but worked for Nash Finch Company, Bismarck, and enjoyed working the elections. She also enjoyed having coffee with her friends, sewing, embroidery, and working puzzles. She was a baseball fanatic, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sons Douglas Meske, Mora, Minnesota and Perry Meske, Bismarck; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Debbie and Mel Glass, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Linda and Jerry Fossum, Bismarck; seven grandchildren, Duane Meske, Deanna Meske, Scott Glass, Ryan Meske, Michele Meske, Vicki Fossum and Katie Messer; ten great-grandchildren, Sean, James, Elijah, Lynus, Kai, Kira, Troy, Gwen, August, and Aiden; five brothers, Edmer, George, Lester and Ivan Murschel and Ray Reiner; and one sister, Virginia Ell. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, her parents, two brothers, Art and Jim Murschel; four sisters, Ramona Ziegler, Edna Nelson, Lillian Squire, and Alda Murschel; and daughter-in-law, Grace Meske. Her children would like to give a special thank you to Touchmark staff (formerly Waterford), the St. Alexius Hospice, and Visiting Angels who took such good care of mom during her final months.
