Anita Marie Svanes

Anita Svanes, 76, Bismarck, ND, passed away peacefully at her home on September 30, 2015. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, October 5, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran church in Kintyre, ND, with Rev. Susan Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Kintyre City Cemetery.

Anita was born in Hanska, MN, on October 28, 1938, to Alice (Lee) and Gordon Evenson. She attended high school in Madelia, MN, and worked as a telephone operator in New Ulm, MN. In 1958, while traveling out to North Dakota to visit her brother, she met the love of her life, Harold Svanes. They married in July of 1958 and farmed outside of Kintyre for 44 years. In 2002, they retired from the farm and moved to a new home in Bismarck. For the past several years, Anita enjoyed working part-time at Noah's Ark daycare. She just loved children and especially adored her grandchildren Aaron, Raina, Nicki, Sara, and Nick as well as her great-grandchildren Kaydence, Kolten, Taylor, Gavin, Aralynn, and Evolette.

Anita is survived by her husband Harold; daughter, Sheila (Dave) Geffre, Colorado Springs, CO; son, Brad (Debbie) Svanes, Indianapolis, IN; two brothers, Larry Evenson and Leland Evenson, MN; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Shelly Reamann; and her brother Gene Evenson.
