Ann Messmer

Ann Messmer, 69, LaMoure, North Dakota, formerly of Bismarck, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 9, 2016, at the Church of the Ascension, Bismarck with Rev. Msgr. James Braaten and Fr. Marvin Klemmer officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM, Friday, April 8, 2016, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.

Ann was born December 29, 1946, at Richardton, North Dakota, to Ray and Minnie (Jahner) Messmer. She was raised in Richardton and received her GED. She then worked at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center from 1972-1983 and 1985-1997. She was involved in Catholic Daughters and enjoyed card playing and visiting with people. Ann had a wonderful sense of humor and was very independent.

Ann is survived by five sisters and five brothers; Sr. Stephanie Messmer, David (Angie) Messmer, Wallace (Kathy) Messmer, Rosalie (Wayne) Kudrna, Margie (Marvin) Messer, Tim (Donna) Messmer, Ralph Messmer, Tony (Karen) Messmer, Jeanie (Jim) Barta, and Bernie (Dennis) Brady; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Mary; her brother-in-law, Ted Messer; sister-in-law, Jackie Messmer; and nieces, Mary Messmer-Rosario and Cora Messmer.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Rose Care Center in LaMoure for Annie's wonderful care these past eight months and all the friends who have helped her throughout the years. She had an incredible spirit and determination-she will be missed! Rest in peace, Annie.
