Arley A. Schwindt Obituary (1932 - 2021)

Arley Schwindt, 89, Mandan, ND, passed away Friday, November 17, 2021, at a local hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at First Lutheran Church, Mandan with Rev. Phil Leer officiating. Visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be in the Mandan Union Cemetery. Arley was born May 19, 1932, at Tuttle, ND, to Alexander and Lydia (Rath) Schwindt. He was raised and educated in Tuttle ND and graduated from Tuttle high school. He was united in marriage on Nov.26, 1951 to Alvina Bosch in Tappan ND. They resided in Tuttle ND until they moved to Mandan ND in 1967. Most of his working career was with Jacobson and Sons construction Co., until his retirement in 1994. Arley enjoyed family gatherings where he would entertain family and friends with his natural talent for playing guitar and singing. He and Alvina enjoyed many evenings dancing to their favorite music at numerous polka venues. He loved telling jokes and responding to them with his own hearty laugh. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Alvina; daughters Kathy Allen (Scott Ahmann) and Barbara Hawley (Spencer), sons Larry (Nanci), Steven (Cathy), Jeffrey (Lorraine), and James (Jeannie); 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; three sisters, Erma Oeffner (Robert), Shirley Posey, and Sandra Fetzer; two brothers, Leo and Alex (Bonnie). Arley was preceded in death by his parents; Alexander and Lydia and two brothers, Reinhardt and Orville.
