Bethany A Walking Elk Obituary (1991

Bethany Ann Walking Elk, 29, Bismarck, passed away Monday, June 8, 2020 at CHI St. Alexius, Bismarck. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services with Rev. Dale Nabben officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 5-7 PM Monday, June 15, 2020, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Brave Bull Family Cemetery, Cannon Ball. Bethany Walking Elk was born May 16, 1991, at Bismarck, to Robert and Geralynn. She was raised and educated in Fort Yates, graduated in 2009 from Standing Rock High School. During her school years she excelled in everything she tried, especially in Band. She played flute. Upon graduating, she was in Advanced Band and was always proud of that. She enjoyed riding horses and would ride every chance she could. She moved with her grandma Patty to Twin Buttes, ND and finally got her own horse. She named her horse Tequila. Beth was a home body. Always sitting in her room watching movies or listening to music with her friends. She enjoyed taking trips to Alberque, New Mexico with her family. Being around her was never a dull moment. She was always entertaining. She met her love, Bret Walking Elk and they were married. Together they moved to Bismarck to start their own path. Their son Oakley Sylvan arrived and she'll live on, through him. She was loved by so many and will be dearly missed by her husband; son; parents; brothers, Austin (Aspen) and Travis (Sharnell); sister, Summer Twinn; numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins. Bethany was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Josephine Barrett, Annie Thunder Hawk, Mary Lester and Gilbert Eagle; grandparents, her "bubbie" Patty, Darlene Medicine Horse, Marcella and Donald Twinn, Clayton Twinn Sr., George Eagle, and Scott Chase; cousin, Raymond Molash.
