Carla Jovon Yellowbird Obituary (1989

Carla Jovon Yellowbird, 27, Mandan, passed away August 24, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM CDT Friday, September 30, 2016, at the Legion Hall, McIntosh, South Dakota with Father Tony Grossenbrug officiating. A Wake is scheduled for 6:00 PM CDT at the Legion Hall McIntosh. Burial is in the McIntosh City Cemetery, McIntosh. Carla was born March 14, 1989 at Aberdeen, South Dakota, to Charles Yellowbird and Loretta Sitting Dog. She resided in Albuquerque, New Mexico until the age of one. She was raised and educated in McIntosh, South Dakota. She later got her GED from Sitting Bull College. In 2003, she met Yamni American Horse. They had four beautiful children, Aarik, Alani, Antoine IV, and A'mare American Horse. She then went on to meet Jeremy Alberts from Spirit Lake, North Dakota, and to this union three beautiful boys were born. Jeremy Jr. "Tune", Jordan, and Jay Alberts. Carla then moved to Mandan where she enjoyed hanging out with her friends and family. She loved being around her family. Carla's favorite hobbies were horseshoes, softball, and basketball. When she was younger, she liked to box and loved to travel. She enjoyed being around her babies and helping others. She loved her nieces and nephews; Kiara and Leroy Jordan, K'sai and Mila Mauai, and Anthony Carmona Jr. She was always happy to see and watch them. Carla was a music lover. She loved spending time with her sisters Kristi, Kerry, and C'ante, but Carla especially loved being around her mother. She was very close to all her cousins that she grew up with. She was close to her uncles and aunties as well. Carla enjoyed life, she was funny, outspoken, and had a sense of humor. She will be missed by so many relatives and friends. She will always remain in our hearts.
