Carol Ann Gebauer, affectionately known by all as "Snook," passed away on March 8, 2024. Born August 16, 1945, in Dickinson, North Dakota, Carol was courageous, loving, loyal, and fiercely dedicated, a woman who always put her family first. She was smart, with a knack for Sudoku puzzles, and enjoyed bowling and reading. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Carol embodied this sentiment, illuminating the lives of those around her with the warmth of her spirit.
Carol and her beloved husband made their vows on May 16, 1964. Their enduring bond was a testament to Carol's unwavering loyalty and deep capacity for love. Carol's legacy is not just in the work she accomplished or the activities she enjoyed, but in the love and values she instilled in her family. Carol lived her 'why' every day, creating a loving home and nurturing her family with unwavering dedication.
Carol is survived by her loving brothers and sisters; three children, Richard (Angela) Gebauer, Cindy Magelky, LeNeika (Brandon) Roehrich. She is also remembered by her grandchildren: Heather (Shawn) Beier, Joshua Bray, Cierra (Brennan) Bennington, Tyler (Kelsey) Gebauer, Jessica (Alec) Gebauer, Dalton Sloan, and Payton Jauhola; and her great-grandchildren: Elijah Bray, Elmarie Beier, Emmelyn Beier, Anika Kuntz, Braydon Bennington, Kohen Bennington, Renleigh Sloan, and Holden Green. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Anton Diebel and Otillia (Schwindt).
Let us celebrate her life and the love she shared with us all. Carol Gebauer was more than just her accomplishments; she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a loyal friend and a courageous spirit. And above all, Carol's love was abundant, and she will continue to shine in our hearts forever.
Family has chosen per her wishes to have private services and burial at the ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
