Casimir Jochim Obituary (1931

Casimir Jochim, 85, Mandan, North Dakota, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Sanford Health, Bismarck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM (CDT) Monday, May 22, 2017, at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Selfridge, with Fr. John Paul Gardner officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 3-5:00 PM with a Rosary Service beginning at 5:00 PM, Sunday, May 21, 2017, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in St. Philomena Catholic Cemetery, Selfridge, North Dakota. Casimir was born October 21, 1931, at Selfridge, North Dakota, to Joseph and Eva (Schwartzenberger) Jochim. He was raised and educated in Selfridge. On January 15, 1952, he married DeLainis Hertel in McIntosh, South Dakota. Casimir worked for Homestake Mine from 1952-60, farmed from 1960-79, and owned and operated the Wishing Well Bar and Supper Club from 1979 until his retirement in 1983. In 2002, he moved to Mandan. Casimir was a member of Mandan Golden Age Club, and enjoyed playing cards and pool, and gardening. He is survived by his wife, DeLainis; two daughters, Anita (Pius) Johner, Mandan, Rita (Mike) Feist, New Castle, Wyoming; two sons, Gary (Corrine) Jochim, Mandan, and Allen (Shelley) Jochim, Spearfish, South Dakota; two brothers, Oscar (Geraldine) Jochim, Mandan, and Stanley (Anna Jane) Jochim, New Salem; 11 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Casimir was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Pete, Valentine, and Joseph Jochim; and sister, Hattie Wetsch. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Philomena Catholic Church, Selfridge.
