Corstella M Ponga Obituary (1952 - 2014)

Corstella Ponga, 62, Cannon Ball, North Dakota, died, Saturday October 18, 2014, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 24, 2014, at Youth Activity Center, Cannon Ball, North Dakota, with Revs. Evans and Ione Elk officiating. A wake service begins at 5:00 PM, Thursday, October 23rd in the Youth Activity Center. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Corstella was born August 30, 1952, at Fort Yates, North Dakota, to Harding and Irene (Smite) Two Horses. She was raised and educated Cannon Ball and attended Solen High School. She married Delmar Ponga Sr. on April 1, 2008, and he passed away in August 2008. Corstella worked as a cook for many years at Cannon Ball Elementary School and as a homemaker raising her family. Corsetlla enjoyed time with family, taking drives to Bismarck, and anything that had to do with Elvis. She kept her family in line, and helped others in need. She loved church, revival meetings and listening to gospel songs. She is survived by three sons, Delmer Ponga Jr., Darien (Cindy) Red Stone, and Darrell White Lightning; three daughters, Venita Ponga, Dallette Red Stone, and Stephanie (Jesse) Black Cloud; three sisters, Valinda Two Horses (Randy Brave Bull), Corrine Stretches, and Diane Ponga; and many grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives. Corstella was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son Vern Ponga, daughter, Rochelle Red Stone; brother, Delbert Two Horses; nephew, Kyle Dean Two Horses; granddaughter, Angel Red Stone; grandson, Dalton Black Cloud; and other relatives.
