Craig "Steve" Vigue

–

Center, North Dakota

Craig Steven "Steve" Vigue, 72 of Center, ND died peacefully Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Sanford Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 16, 1951, in Beloit, WI to the late Craig and Marjorie (Vigue) Lillemo. On September 22, 1978, Steve and Julia Morrison were united in marriage. The story always was that she won him in a pool game!

Steve grew up and graduated from North St. Paul High School. He always said he went to college, drove right through the campus, and then went on to be a journeyman millwright, where he worked in several states.

After moving to ND with their two children he started working at BNI Coal. He worked there for over 20 years and then went back to being a millwright until finally retiring in 2013.

Steve had a passion for flying his airplane and riding his Indian motorcycle whenever he got the chance. He enjoyed golfing with his grandson and friends and shared a love of gardening with his wife Julia. Serving and worshipping Jesus was a priority, and he actively went to church-even if it was cancelled due to winter conditions!! He spent time working on church building projects and was always available to help anyone in need. Family was very important to him, and many relatives were surprised when he showed up for various events despite the distance simply because they sent him an invitation. He worked hard to always provide for his family and is remembered fondly for his smile.

Steve was greatly loved and will be missed by his wife of 45 years, Julia; son Caleb Vigue, daughter Aria Spano, and grandson Benjamin Spano, all of Center. Brother Daniel (Brenda) Lillemo, three sisters Cherie Jepson, Monica (Jon) Blilie, and Deborah Dahl, one Aunt Patricia Tikalsky, and various cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu, of a funeral, Steve requested there be just a private family time.
