Cyril Iron Road Obituary (1952

Cyril "Sandy" Iron Road, Wahacankamaza, 70, Mandan, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Sanford Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 19, 2022, at the Youth Activity Center (red gym), Cannon Ball with Waylon American Horse Officiating, accompanied by Antoine "Jr." and Verdelia American Horse. Burial will be in Congregational Cemetery, Cannon Ball at a later date. A Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM with a Prayer service beginning at 4:00 PM, at DaWise-Perry / Mandan Crematory, 4211 Old Red Trail, Mandan. Visitation continues one hour prior to the services in Cannon Ball on Monday. Cyril was born July 23, 1952, in Fort Yates, ND, to Milo and Ethel (Grey Bull) Iron Road. He was raised and educated in Fort Yates and Bismarck, ND. He received his Associate of Arts from Bismarck Junior College. During his apprenticeship, he took correspondent courses through Penn State and upon completion, advanced to Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter. He worked for Sprinkler Fitters - Local 669 U.A. until his retirement. After his retirement, he worked for the IHS hospital in Ft. Yates then Baptist Home in Bismarck as a driver transporting patients for dialysis. He is survived by his wife Shirley, daughters Dawn, Sandra, Tracey, Stacey, adopted daughter Amy Schaaf, and son Matt (Becky), Grandchildren Donovan, Kelsey, Brianna, Eden, Hendrik, Danica "Baby", and Ta'te, great grandson Nevada, sister Sharlene and numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, along with numerous family and friends made along the pow wow trail. Cyril was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Cynthia Howe, grandson Steven.
