Diane Strom

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Diane Strom, who departed from this life on August 31, 2026. Born on July 9, 1958, in Bismarck, ND, to Eugene and Edna Vogel. Diane was a beacon of compassion, generosity, and love, whose vibrant spirit touched everyone she encountered. Our lives were enriched by her presence, and her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday September 4, 2026, at DaWise-Perry/Mandan Crematory. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service. There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.

Diane was a fiercely independent woman, defined by her love for her family, friends, and her hobbies. She was a woman of many talents, but her passion for beading was unmatched. She channeled her creativity into crafting beautiful bracelets, necklaces, bookmarks, pens, and more, which she generously shared with those around her. Halloween and Christmas were her favorite times of the year, as she reveled in the joy and unity these holidays brought. As the English author, G.K. Chesterton once said, "The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him." Diane, too, was a true soldier who fought for those she loved - her kids, her friends, and her family.

Diane is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Kelly Kautzman; her loving son, Brent Strom; and her cherished brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Noreen Vogel. She is preceded in death by her father, Eugene Vogel, her mother, Edna Vogel, and her sister, Maggie Fleck. In each of these loved ones, Diane's legacy of love, support, and generosity lives on. She was a testament to the enduring power of love and the strength of family bonds, and her memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
