Florestine Mary Grant Obituary (1954

Florestine Mary Grant, 63, Cannon Ball, North Dakota, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 3, 2017, in St. James Episcopal Church, Cannon Ball, with Rev. John Floberg officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 9:00 AM until time of the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in St. James Episcopal Cemetery, Cannon Ball. Florestine was born April 26, 1954, in Porcupine, North Dakota, to Jesse and Agnes (Cottonwood) Carry Moccasin. She was raised and educated in Porcupine, graduated from Solen Highschool, and attended Sitting Bull College and the University of Mary. Over the years, she worked at Cannon Ball Headstart and Prairie Knights Casino. Florestine enjoyed beading, sewing, and spending time with friends and family. She was an active member of the St. James Episcopal Church. She is survived by one daughter, Alex Spotted Elk; one son, Travis Spotted Elk, both of Cannon Ball; three sisters, Patricia Carry Moccasin, Cannon Ball, Rose (Norman) Westbrook, and Lenette (Joe) Kraft, all of Bismarck; one brother, Albert Carry Moccasin, Center, North Dakota; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends. Florestine was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Jay Spotted Elk; and two sisters.
