Gabe Black Moon Obituary (1944

Gabe Black Moon Sr, 75, Fort Yates, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020. at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM at St Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Fort Yates. Gabe was born July 12, 1944, at Red Scaffold, South Dakota to Gilbert and Lena (Bears Stops) Black Moon. He was raised and educated in Red Scaffold, South Dakota. He married Vanessa Red Bull and together had a son, Gabe Jr. He was a Lakota Language Teacher for many years. He enjoyed doing carpentry work, being outside and helping others. He is survived by his wife, Vanessa; son, Gabe Jr.; sister, Norma Black Moon; brothers, Norvan, and David; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special friends. Gabe was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edward and Thomas; sister, Leah Black Moon.
