Gary Little Bird Sr. Obituary (1956

Gary Allen Little Bird Sr., 58, Fort Yates, North Dakota, passed away Monday, February 23, 205, at IHS Hospital, Fort Yates. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 27, 2015, in the Youth Activity Center, Cannon Ball, North Dakota, with Revs. Evans and Ione Elk officiating. A Wake service begins at 5:00 PM, Thursday, February 26th also in the AJ Agard Memorial Building. Burial will be in Yellow Calf Cemetery, Ethete, Wyoming. Gary was born June 25, 1956, at Fort Yates, to Gerald and Florence (Fool Bear) Little Bird. He was raised and educated in Cannon Ball. He entered the US Marines on June 27, 1974, and served during Vietnam. On December 1, 1999, he married Carlita Felter in Fort Yates. Gary worked for various construction companies over the years, and also served as a BIA Police Officer. He enjoyed tinkering on vehicles, being outdoors, hunting, fishing, traveling, going to the casino, but most of all spending time with friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Carlita; three daughters, Carlita Little Bird, Carmen Arthur and Monica Arthur; four sons, Gary Little Bird III, Hoksila Little Bird, Delbert Arthur, and Elliot Sunrhodes, all of Fort Yates; one sister, Jan (Floyd) Montclair; three brothers, George Fool Bear, Carl Little Bird, Barney Little Bird, Royce Fool Bear, and Tator Fool Bears; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters.
