Geraldine Schaan

Geraldine Schaan, "Geri", 78, Bismarck, ND, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021, at a Mandan Care Center, and her husband, Wendell "Wendy" Peter Schaan, 73, Bismarck, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023. A Memorial Service to celebrate both of their lives will be held at 1:00 PM, July 18, 2023, at DaWise Perry/Mandan Crematory, Mandan. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service at DaWise Perry. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place.
Geri was born May 29, 1943, at Hebron, North Dakota, to Tom and Tillie (Kitzan) Petri. She was raised and educated in Hebron and graduated from Hebron High School in 1961. She married Wendell Schaan on December 12, 1987. She was employed at Medcenter One from 1962, until she retired in 2011. Geri enjoyed bowling, going for car rides, and going out to eat with family and friends. She loved animals, especially dogs and cats.
She is survived by her husband; brother, Wayne (Bev) Petri, Hebron, ND; niece, Stefanie Allen, San Diego, CA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ralph and Ruth Schaan, and their children, Casper, WY; special friends, Duane an Marlene Vastag, Mandan, Nadine, Dan an Gabriella Bengs, Otsego, MN, Trisha Vastag, Eden Prairie, MN, Lee and Dorothy Berkley, Bismarck, Candy and Saige Herbel, Bismarck, Dan and Monica Cox, Bismarck, Gerald and Arliene Scheurer, Golden Valley, ND, Stan and Chris Roth, Mandan.
Geri was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Tillie Petri; her in-laws, Ralph and Ann Schaan; and uncles, Herbert and Albert Kitzan.
