Harold William Westmeyer

Harold William Westmeyer, 86, Mandan, North Dakota, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Mandan with Rev. Ryan Wolfe officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 5-7:00 PM, Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery, Mandan.

Harold was born January 25, 1931, to Carl and Ella (Joersz) Westmeyer in Judson, North Dakota, where he was raised and educated. On March 12, 1953, he married Viola Zumbaum in Mandan. Harold worked for John Iverson Company for 48 years, Electric Systems for 15 years, and didn't retire until he was 82 years old. He enjoyed bowling for 55 years, playing cards and volunteering at his church.

He is survived by two sons, Monty (Harumi) Westmeyer, Falls Church, Virginia, and Kevin (Gina) Westmeyer, Milton, Florida; one daughter, Sharri (Herman) Galster, Bismarck; four sisters, Eileen Solberg, Mandan, Florence Beard, Fenton, Michigan, Bernice Peterson, Columbia Heights, Minnesota, Stella Westmeyer, Mandan; three sisters-in-law Connie Westmeyer, Minot, Vivian Hilken, Wilton, and Bea Sorensen, Peachtree Corners, Georgia; five grandchildren, Melody (Iwan) Balcet, Melissa Westmeyer, Christ Galster, Mandy Galster, and Kacey Galster; four great-grandchildren, Maika, Nami, Alexis, and Brooklyn.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Viola; his parents; two brothers, Bill and Ray; and two sisters, Lorraine and Dorothy.
