Inez Marlene Eagleshield Obituary (1952 - 2015)

Inez M. Eagleshield, 62, Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, March 22, 2015, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, McLaughlin, South Dakota with The Rev. Canon John Floberg officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Episcopal Cemetery, Little Eagle, South Dakota. Cremation has taken place. Inez was born June 28, 1952 at White Horse, South Dakota, to Ernest and Jeannette (Two Hearts) Eagleshield. She was raised and educated in Little Eagle, South Dakota and graduated from Eagle Butte High School, Eagle Butte, South Dakota. She attended college in Rapid City, South Dakota, Huron State in Huron, South Dakota and Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, Arizona, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. She worked for several years as a Registered Nurse for several hospitals in various cities until retiring in March 2010 from Parker, Arizona. Following her retirement, she moved to Bismarck in April 2010 to be closer to family. She enjoyed doing various crafts, especially bead work and crocheting. In her own words: "I have tried to live a full, happy life, accepting the many trials and hardships that have come my way. My children are the pride and joy of my life. God truly blessed me with you. I hope and pray that God will be with each of you and that you will continue to grow in the knowledge of God's love and forgiveness. I have met many people that I have grown to love and truly cherish their unselfish gifts of friendship, knowledge and care. My education and work as a nurse have been a lifelong dream for me. Education never ends. I have met many people that have had a profound effect on me and have learned many things about myself, which I hope were good and helped me to be a better person. I have tried to show sympathy and empathy to people I have met through my work. I can only hope and pray that I have had a positive impact in one way or another on these people." Inez is survived by her children; Abbi Frazier, Parker, AZ, India Frazier, Fanchon Frazier, and Sara Frazier, Bismarck, ND; sisters; Cynthia Knox, Parker, AZ, Alice Martin, Angleton, TX, Victoria Red Horn and Mary Eagleshield, Bismarck, ND; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson; and special cousins; Jewel Felix, Lizbeth Eagleshield, Charlotte White Mountain, Robert White Mountain, Joe Mountain, Howard and John Eagleshield Sr., and Kate Miner. Also surviving is the large extended Mountain family of North Dakota, the Eagleshield family and the White Mountain of South Dakota. There are also many others too numerous to mention by name. Inez was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dondi Frazier; two sisters; and two brothers.
