Jaclene Kay Grey Obituary (1972

Jaclene "Jaci" Kay Grey, 42, Mandan, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015, at near Mandan. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 23, 2015, in the AJ Agard Memorial Building, Fort Yates, with the Rev. Canon John Floberg officiating. A wake service begins at 5:00 PM, Thursday, January 22, 2015, also in the AJ Agard Memorial Building. Burial will be in Reed Cemetery, Fort Yates. Jaclene was born January 21, 1972, at Fort Yates, to Virgil and Alwin (Red Stone) Running Bear. She received her grade school education in Fort Yates and Wahpeton Indian School, her high school years were at Standing Rock, Fort Yates. After graduation she had her first born son, Tyrell. She later married Andrew Grey Jr. and from this union two sons were born, Wyatt and Hunter Grey. She loved her sons and all children that she came into contact with. The children felt good and loved her in return. Niece Josephine "Lilo" Laundreaux and nephew, Drake Running Bear were her best little buddies. Being so close to her father when he passed away two years ago, she became quite broken. She lost her husband this October due to a horse training accident, leaving her even sadder. She was employed at various motels in Bismarck including Country Suites, Ramkota and the Radisson. She loved to listen to Native recordings and Western music. She loved crafts, sewing, beading earrings and other accessories. Jaclene was from a family that enjoyed being on the powwow trail. She was a Jingle Dress Dancer, and her sons were grass dancers. She is survived by her three sons, Tyrell (Laney) Running Bear, Red Lake, Arizona, and Wyatt and Hunter Grey, both of Sisseton, South Dakota; brothers, Virgil Running Bear Jr., Wisconsin, Raymond Running Bear, Mobridge, Nicholas Running Bear, Bismarck, Joel Running Bear, North Carolina, Lyndell Lawrence, Shay and Koda Tree Top, Fort Yates; sisters, Myra, Jewel, and DeLayna Red Stone, Fort Yates; grandmothers, Rita Loon and Diane (Robert) Gates, Fort Yates, aunts, LaVonne Running Bear, Arverdell See Walker, and LaVene Red Stone; adopted mothers, Ellen Fisher and Mabel Ann Phillips, and Charlene Clora; adopted sister, Everetta See Walker; very special uncle, Larry Fast Horse; and special friend, Archie Ducheneaux. Jaci was preceded in death by her parents, husband; sister, Yana Camille Running Bear; grandparents, Joseph and Grace Running Bear.
