January A. Yellow Lodge Obituary (1984 - 2012)

January Yellow Lodge, 28, Fort Yates, North Dakota, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 20, 2012, in the A.J. Agard Memorial Building, Fort Yates with Rev. Marlon Hunte officiating. Visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service also in the A.J. Agard Memorial Building. Burial will be in Word of God Cemetery, Fort Yates. January was born January 4, 1984, at Bismarck, to Nathan Yellow Lodge and Debbie Dogskin Dubois. She was raised and educated in Fort Yates. January was a kind, caring, and thoughtful person who put everyone else's needs before her own, and was always willing to help anyone out. She thought a lot of her nieces and nephews, especially her favorite nephew "Jaunte" whom she loved and cherished. January enjoyed cleaning houses, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with family. Over the years she worked at the motel in Newtown, Diamond Z Bar and Restaurant, White Buffalo Grocery Store, and Prairie Knights Casino, all of Fort Yates. She believed in Jesus and knew he was real. She didn't go to church all the time, but when she did, she enjoyed picking out songs. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her parents; her grandmothers, Seraphine Dogskin, Edna Black Bear, both of Fort Yates; sisters, Leslie Dogskin, Parshall, North Dakota; Lori and Mary Yellow Lodge, New Town; brothers, Chad Yellow Lodge, Parshall, Jeffrey (Margo) Dogskin, Fort Yates, Nathan Yellow Lodge Jr., Francis Yellow Lodge, and Nicholas, Yellow Lodge; aunts, Robyn (Steve) Miller, Ardis (Justin) Larock, Willamette Standing Crow; uncles, Jarvis Dogskin, Butch (Melody) Wolf Necklace, Jackson (Karen) Dogskin, Ted (Leslie) Dogskin; special friend, Andrew Good Iron; cousins; Jennifer, Jana "BooBoo", Carrie, Larrissa, Ryan, Codi, Bryan, Sherri, DelRay, Jalyssa, Mike, Jaycee, Jodi, Kasey, Montana, Ashley, Jesse, Stacey, Morgan, Natus, David, Kristen, Steve Jr., Alicia Jordan, Edison, Crystal, and Bradley; and numerous nieces and nephews.. January was preceded in death by her brother, Curtis Dogskin; grandpa, Tommy Dogskin; uncles, Corey "Hoops" Dogskin, Dean Dogskin, and Terry Dogskin; cousins, Jarvis Dogskin Jr. and Kimberly Dogskin; and nephew, Brenden Drake-Miller.
