Jarad Michael Dewey Obituary (1977 - 2018)

Jarad Michael Dewey, 40, Bismarck, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Sandford Health, Bismarck. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 11, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Thomas Marcis Jr. officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 3:00-5:00 PM with a prayer service beginning at 5:00 PM, Sunday, June 10, 2018, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church. Jarad was born November 25, 1977, at Bismarck, to Kerry and Renae (Guthmiller) Dewey. He was raised and educated in Bismarck. He worked as a carpenter and handyman. Jarad enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and animals, especially his dog, Shadow. He was outgoing, loving, kind, and always ready to help others. Jarad was very gifted in the arts and crafts area. He made beautiful diamond willow walking sticks, enjoyed leather tooling and was a very good artist. His talent seemed to be unlimited, but his best was to help those that needed it and without question. Jarad's motto was: live through the years not by the years. He loved all his family and friends but had a special place in his heart for his Uncle Tank and Bob. He is survived by his father, Kerry, Onalaska, TX; his mother, Renae (Gerard) "Whitey" Volk, Bismarck; his brother, Jameson, Bismarck; grandmother, Marcella Volk; aunts, Sharon (Walt) Leno, Coleen Baker, Marie (Darris) Job, and Therisa Haugen; and uncles, Robert (Doris) Guthmiller, Alan (Patti) Dewey, Leroy (Mary), Jerome, Willie (Arlene), and Anthony Volk. Jarad was preceded in death by grandparents, Mike Volk, Adolph and Hulda Guthmiller, Stanley and Doris Dewey; his aunt, Janice Zeeb; and his dog, Shadow.
