Jerry Timothy Stein

Jerry T. Stein, 81, Menoken, passed away November 17, 2022. Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Jerry was born on September 19, 1941, in Morton County to Wacek and Margaret (Bauer) Stein. Jerry, an exuberant youth, was always outdoors or working on cars and motorcycles. His exuberance led him to a Navy career when he was seventeen.

In the Navy, Jerry spent several tours in Vietnam, was a wounded combat veteran, and highly decorated. He retired from the Navy in 1983 after filling several roles, including being a chief engineer. He was most proud of his time as a diver. After his retirement from the Navy, Jerry farmed for a while, worked in gold mines, ranched buffalo, owned a construction company, and flipped cars. He could paint, play guitar, and cook. He loved the ocean, fishing, and traveling, especially California wine country.

Jerry is survived by his three children, Christine, Stephanie, and Jerry (Kim); grandchildren, Jill, Amy, Julie, Dustin, Rachel, Mason, Patricia, Clarissa, Treavor, Grace, and Hope; sister, Sharon (Wayne) Miller; his nephews, great grandchildren, and cousins.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.
