Johanna Vetter Obituary (1923

Johanna (Reinbold) Vetter, 99, Bismarck, passed away May 21, 2022, at a local hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 27, 2022, at St. Anne's Catholic Church with Rev. Jeff Zwack officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00-7:00 PM with a Vigil/Rosary service at 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 26, 2022, at DaWise-Perry / Mandan Crematory, 4211 Old Red Trail, Mandan. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Bismarck. Johanna was born May 6, 1923, to Anton and Nathalia (Diechert) Reinbold, southwest of Strasburg, ND in the Krasna area. She married Matthew Vetter on May 16, 1946, in Linton, ND. They had seven children, Leo, Judy, Angie, Adeline "Sam", Tom, Ellie, and Tony. They farmed west of Linton until 1960 when they moved to Bismarck. Most of her life she was a stay at home mom. Family was everything to her, the more the merrier. She worked in the laundry area at St. Alexius, did babysitting. She later worked at Red Owl Bakery and Mohler gas station. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She made beautiful baby afgans. She loved to play any card games, especially pinochle, bingo and trips to the casino. She was a wonderful cook. If you went away hungry, it was your own fault. Everyone enjoyed her kuchen. Johanna is survived by her children, Leo (Belinda), Albers, IL, Angie (Jeff) Renner, St. Anthony, ND, Adeline (Bruce) Schumacher, Mandan, ND, Tom (Jackie), Duluth, MN, Ellie (Jerry) Orr, Wheatland, WY; daughter-in-law, Judy Swenson; son-in-law, Dennis (Kathy) Schirado; sister-in-law, Rita Holzer, Spokane, WA; 18 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Matthew; son, Tony; daughter, Judy Schirado; siblings, Kathryn Feist, Frank Reinbold, Theresa Reis, Thekla Senger, Monica Senger, Magdelina Fisher; half siblings, Ignats, Joseph, Barbara, Wendeline, John, Elenore, Anne, Bernard, Martin, Mary, Joe, and Jack.
