Joyce J. Pulkrabek

Joyce J. Pulkrabek, 79, St. Anthony, North Dakota, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017, in her home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, February 17, 2017, at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, with Rev. Christina Martin officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 5-7:00 PM with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 16, 2017, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery, Mandan.

Joyce was born December 1, 1937, in Mandan, North Dakota, to Frank and Alice (Rask) Toman. She was raised and educated in Flasher, where she graduated from high school in 1955. Following high school, she received her teaching degree from Dickinson State College. On January 21, 1961, she married Harold Pulkrabek. Throughout the years, Joyce worked as a teacher's aide and at Thrifty White. She also helped run the family trucking business. She enjoyed bowling every Wednesday with her lady friends, gardening, taking care of their numerous pets, and spoiling her grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Wade (Lisa), Mandan; one sister, Annette (Jerry) Sieveke, Rapid City, South Dakota; two brothers, Lester (June) Toman, Mandan, and Leslie Toman, Flasher; six grandchildren, Alayna, Alexander, Allison, Austin, Ava, and Anastasia; many nieces and nephews; and special friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents; and sister-in-law, Nancy Toman.
