Kandi Allen Obituary (1986 - 2024)

Kandi Jares Allen, unexpectedly passed away in her home on May 1, 2024, at the age of 38. Kandi was born to Donald and Lorie Allen on April 12, 1986 in the Mandan Hospital. She attended school in Stanton, Beulah, and graduating from Center. She was in the class of 2004. Throughout high school, she enjoyed extra curriculars and being involved in school functions. This included being a scoreboard keeper for girls volleyball and basketball, and being a flute player for her high school band. After graduation, she attended Bismarck State College for criminal justice for two years. Ultimately, she left college to care for her father. She enjoyed fishing with her mom and dad, family trips to Medora and Yellowstone Park, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her closest friends. She cared deeply for her friends and family. Her biggest joy in life was being an aunt. Kandi also had many interests, like watching wrestling, playing bingo, getting her nails done, long chats with friends, and caring for her cat Trouble. And she always looked forward to going to the Powwow every year with her mom. At the time of her unexpected passing, she lived in Hazen caring for her mom. She enjoyed being part of the community. She is survived by her mom, Lorie Jares, her sister Angela, God parents Kelly and Tracey, her three nieces – Linnette, Jocelyn and Jacey, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father Donald Allen, Uncle Kelly Allen, her aunts Sharon, Glenda and Sandy, paternal grandparents Bud and Lucy Allen, and maternal grandpa Donald Jares. Kandi was loved dearly by her family and friends. We ask that you keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she was taken too soon. Cremation has taken place and a funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Stanton. “Kandi will be missed and always loved by your mother – Lorie Jares.” She was not just her mother, but her best friend.
