Kim "KD" Wuertz Obituary (1959 - 2025)

KD Würtz, (65), of Mandan, passed away February 20, 2025, at VA Hospital in Fargo, ND. Inurnment has taken place at the ND Veteran's Cemetery, Mandan. KD was born at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck, ND on 8 May 1959, son of Lynn Gerald Wuertz and Peggy Grace Rowley. KD grew up in the Lewistown, Montana area. He Graduated from Fergus High School in 1978, a month later he joined the Air Force as an Aerospace Ground Equipment Technician and was honorably discharged after fourteen years of service. He was awarded numerous Medals and Ribbons and other Awards. While Stationed in Minot AFB, ND he met and married Deborah Dawn Christopherson on 1 Aug 1981.They had three Children; Joshua Lynn, Kira Marie, Seth James. They divorced in Mar 1987. Served at Minot AFB, ND 1978-1981, Spangdahlem AB, Germany 1981- 1984, Minot AFB, ND 1984- 1988, Comiso, Italy 1988-1989, Fairchild AFB, WA 1989-1992. KD attended college 1997 – 1999 at Montana State University Northern in Havre Mt. and finish at Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City Iowa for an AAS in Automotive Mechanics. KD went on and worked in the automotive business until 2014, during this time he achieved his Master ASE Certification in 2000. KD went back to college for a Business Degree at Bismarck State College. He received an AA degree in May of 2016. KD had been working for the Non-Profit Business of Aids Inc, a Thrift Shop and Food Bank in Mandan, ND. until his medical problems arose. KD is survived by his three children: Josh Wuertz and Rachel Lyle, Kira Marie Wuertz and Eric Erwin, and Seth Wuertz, one brother Carl Robert Wuertz, one sister Toni Lynn Wuertz Soennichsen, 4 Grandchildren: Brady, Brylie, Braxton, and Brooklyn; aunt, Linda and Larry Hippen. KD was preceded in death by his Father, Lynn Gerald Wuertz, Mother, Peggy Grace (Rowley) Wuertz, Sister Kira Jean Wuertz, both sets of grandparents: Carl and Mary (Siegfried) Wuertz, Robert and Maxine Lora (Patterson) Rowley, numerous Aunts and Uncles: Elden and Teckla (Holzer) Wuertz, Ronald and Judy (Rowley) Blank, Gerald and Anita (Rowley) Frohlich, Robin Rae (Rowley) Staples, Brian Robert Rowley.
