Lavone J. Steffenson Obituary (1953 - 2023)

Lavone J. Steffenson, 70, Mandan, passed away Monday June 19, 2023, at a local hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Seventh Day Adventist Church, Mandan with Harold Chin. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at a later date. There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place. Lavone was born May 6, 1953, at Baldwin, ND, to Lyle and Donna (Robidou) Dimond. She was raised and educated in Baldwin, ND. She also attended Brentwood Elementary and Sheyenne River Academy. She loved being outdoors, her favorite activities were camping, hiking and kayaking, but she also enjoyed quilting in her spare time. She pursued a career in nursing, because she loved helping people and genuinely wanted to make the world a little better of a place. She married a farmer (Richard Steffenson) and they lived on a farm outside of Hensler, ND where they had 2 children (David and Danielle), but eventually moved to Mandan and bought a house where they raised their family. She worked for the City of Bismarck as an RN, and even though she had retired she continued to fill in whenever necessary. In her last year she got to experience the joys of grandparenthood where she would spend time with her twin Grandbabies (Sam and Dean Steffenson). She is survived by her brother, Willard Dimond (Baldwin), Daughter Danielle Kraft, grand children Ariel and Erin Kraft (Peyton,CO), son David Steffenson and girlfriend Kari Rath, grandchildren Sam and Dean Steffenson (Bismarck). Lavone was preceded in death by Donna and Lyle Dimond (parents), Richard Steffenson (husband), Marius Steffenson (son)
