Les Frederick Kern, age 64, of Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away on Sunday, April 5th, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held, at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 18, 2026, at DaWise-Perry/Mandan Crematory, Mandan. Family and friends will gather the hour before. The Family invites you to join them for the Celebration of Life, from 2-5:00PM, at his “ManCave”, 2101 40th Avenue SE, Mandan. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request monetary donations to help frey the recent unexpected medical expenses. A man defined by his boundless generosity and entrepreneurial spirit, Les left an indelible mark on everyone he met.
Born on August 28th, 1961, in Jamestown, North Dakota, to Gloria Kern and the late Gottfried Kern, Les grew up with a foundation of hard work and community. This drive led him to become the designated broker and owner of Platinum Realty, where he had the unique joy of working side-by-side every day with his son, Dylan. Together with his wife, Kathy, he also owned and operated Salons on 40th, further cementing his role as a pillar of the local business community.
To those who knew him, Les was far more than a businessman. He was a man who truly would have given the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His reputation for being kind, loving, and generous preceded him, and his absence leaves a void in the hearts of the many people he quietly supported throughout his life.
Les is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy; his sons, Dylan (Eryn) and Bryce (Dominique); and his cherished grandchildren, Freya and Liliana, who were the light of his life. He also leaves behind his mother, Gloria Kern; his brother, David; and his sisters, Chrry and Vonney, along with a large extended family and countless friends and colleagues.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gottfried Kern, and his father-in-law, Erling Olson.
