Lyman Edward Vivier Sr. Obituary (1953

LYMAN EDWARD VIVIER SR., 62, Cannon Ball, North Dakota, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at his home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 21, 2015, in the Youth Activity Center, Cannon Ball, with Revs. Antoine and Verdelia American Horse and Rev. Waylon American Horse officiating. A Wake begins at 3:00 PM, Friday, November 20, 2015, also in the Youth Activity Center. Lyman was born August 14, 1953, at Belcourt, North Dakota, to Sylvester and Rose (Grant) Vivier. He was raised and educated in Belcourt, and graduated from high school in 1972 in Flandreau, South Dakota. He graduated Cum Laude from Turtle Mountain Community College earning an A.A. Degree, and graduated from UTTC in 1975 with a Police Science Degree. He worked as a police officer, bartender for Kelly's Bar, TWEP Foreman, Surveyor Assistance, Hall Monitor in Solen, and Security Officer at Prairie Knights Casino and UTTC, and custodian at Standing Rock Middle School. On April 24, 1976, he married Glenda White Lightning in Fort Yates. His first love was music. He was an accomplished musician who began playing in a band at the age of 14. He drummed for Bob Walkers Rising Sons and played lead for the Country Sons. He played Bass guitar and sang for his Midnight Ramble Band. He was a very kind hearted and generous man, helping anyone who needed it and would treat everyone with respect. He had a great sense of humor and would tell a joke at any given moment. His family meant the world to him but, mostly loved his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who met him. He is survived by his wife, Cissie; daughters, Dawn Marie, Charli Vivier, Rashawn Vivier, all of Cannon Ball, and Miranda Eagle, Porcupine; sons, Lee (Mark), Bismarck, Yogi (Jennifer), Cannon Ball, Christopher (LaVonna) Bismarck, and Lucas, Cannon Ball; sisters, Carla, Carleen (Tom) Winfrey, Beverly, and Gladys (Mike Scottie) Azure; adopted sister, Ziggy; mother, Rose; brothers, Gary (Mada), Glenn (Sarah), Darrell, Dale (Judy), and Sylvester; adopted brother Dewey; grandchildren, Raquel, Jeremy, Jayson, Tosh, Mykel, Amaris, Alana, Andre, Cassandra, Alyana, Hunter, Diontaye, Durrell, Koda, Kansas, Kenna, Special grandchildren, Emmi Gayton, and Desmond Conica, Kelly Leingang; adopted daughter, Lori (Kevin) One Horn; adopted sons, Sheldon, Kenneth, Peyton, and Brad; god children, Steven Schroeder, Sean Schroeder, Eric Vivier, Kenten "Joe Beans" Yellow Hammer. \t Lyman was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, sister, Mary Margaret Vivier; brudder, Bryan; and special nephew Darrell Iron Shooter Jr.
