Magdalene "Maggie" Thilmony Obituary (1932

Magdalena "Maggie" Marie Thilmony, 86, Mandan, North Dakota passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Sanford Health, Bismarck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan with Fr. Todd A Kreitinger officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 5-7 PM, with a Vigil/Rosary service at 7:00 PM, Monday, January 28, 2019 at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. Maggie was born October 31, 1932 to John H and Marie (Ludwig) Pfeifer on a farm near Selz, North Dakota. After moving to Devils Lake in 1948, Maggie graduated from Devils Lake High School. She worked as an accountant first at Fairmont Dairy in Devils Lake and later in Fargo. She married James Thilmony on November 20, 1954. They lived in Valley City and Montana before settling in Mandan to raise their family. In addition to being the accountant for their family's Mandan business, TSR, she became one of the first female realtors in western North Dakota. As a respected realtor her career soared and spanned over 35 years, working for Pioneer Realty, Mandan Realty and Century 21 Landmark. Maggie was lovingly committed to faith, family and community. She was active in the Mandan Rotary, Kiwanis Clubs and the Cursillo Movement. She enjoyed Bridge Club, endless pinochle where she could beat the best, and a loyal fan always cheering for her Mandan Braves. She had a love for angels and a beautiful collection to show. In later years, those angels were shared with her loved ones, which will now be cherished forever. We trust that the heavenly angels have now welcomed her home. Maggie will be deeply missed by daughter, Debbie (Bob) Seidler, Goodyear, AZ; 3 sons, Steve (Becky) Thilmony, Mandan; John (Debra) Thilmony, Mandan; Mike (Katrina) Thilmony, Thompson Station, TN; brother, August (Caroline) Pfeifer, Harrisburg,PA; 12 grandchildren, Jamie (Nick) Niles, Mary Seidler, Adren Pierce, Blake Thilmony, Deondra(Corey) Bruner, James (Kati) Arneson, Jordan (Jenny) Thilmony, Sam (Chesney) Arneson, Mady Arneson, Tyler Thilmony, Lexi and Max Thilmony; and 13 great-grandchildren. Maggie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; son, Jimmy; bother Leo (Betty) Pfeifer.
