Mary was born June 29, 1952, at Mandan, ND, to Michael and Florentine (Weinberger) Kuntz. She was raised in Flasher, ND until the family relocated to a farm in Rutland, ND where she graduated from high school. Mary spoke often of her time on the farm with chores, turkeys in the church bell tower and her sister and nephews' pickup truck adventure. When her mother became ill they moved to Bismarck, ND. Mary worked as a waitress for over 20 years at Kirkwood Motor Inn (Bismarck Hotel), she retired from Dan's Supermarket in 2017. Mary made lifelong friends wherever she worked and was a grandma to everyone.
Mary married the love of her life Dennis, May 3rd, 1986 and resided on the Silver Ranch Farm in Bismarck, ND, Dennis passed away in 2014. Upon retirement Mary moved to Linton, ND and resided with her daughter and son-in-law. Mary had a deep love for life and even deeper love for her family and friends, they were the light of her life. She was her grandchildren's biggest fan and often was loudly cheering them on from the sidelines. She scrolled through Facebook many times a day learning and sharing exciting news from all her friends and family. When people speak of Mary they use the words like kind, sweetie, sweetheart, special, giving, silly, charismatic and fun. Mary loved music, especially the golden oldies and polka's. Sunday's you'd find Mary in the kitchen with the radio cranked loud and cooking up a German meal. She was famous for kuchen bars and chicken and dumplings. She also enjoyed playing solitaire, Nintendo, and go-fish with her great grandbabies.
She is survived by daughter, Amanda Lund; grandchildren, Sierra Kuntz (Spencer) and Kane Lund; great-grandchildren, Aspen and Autumn; sisters Michelina (George) Putnam, Cindy (Clem) Nelson; brothers, Virgil (Ruth) and Ronald Kuntz; sister-in-law, Patty Kuntz; brothers-in-law Doug and Dale Lingert; sisters-in-law, Dinah White and Doris (Kenny) Friedt; and many nieces and nephews.
