Maynard Two Bears Obituary (1955 - 2015)

MAYNARD "SIPPY" TWO BEARS, 59, Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 24, 2015, at St. James Episcopal Church, Cannon Ball, North Dakota, with The Rev. Canon John Floberg officiating. Burial will be in St. James Episcopal Cemetery, Cannon Ball. Maynard was born September 7, 1955, at Porcupine, North Dakota to Neil Two Bears and Evelyn Iron Shield. He was raised in Mandan, and educated in Marty, South Dakota. Maynard served in the US Army, and was a proud member of American Legion Matthew American Horse Post #259. He enjoyed attending and participating in powwows, and spending time with friends and family, especially his grandson Burton. He also liked taking care of his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his parents, Neil Two Bears, Fort Yates, and Evelyn Iron Shield, Bismarck; one son, Jaron Lester, Bismarck; one step-daughter, Tara Joshua, Henderson, Kentucky; one brother, Kenneth Two Bears, Dupree, South Dakota; his special friend, Rita Joshua; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Maynard was preceded in death by two sisters, Twyla and Matilda Two Bears; and one brother, Harold Iron Shields.
