Michael George Bauer

Michael George Bauer, 65, Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, at Rochester, Minnesota. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Calvary United Methodist Church, Bismarck with Rev. Perry Schnabel officiating. The family will greet friends and family one hour prior to the service. Michael was born August 26, 1948, in Bismarck, to George and Flora (Klein) Bauer. He was raised and educated in Bismarck. He was married to Deborah Albers for 16 years, and together they had three children. On June 2, 1990, he married Diane Neff in McClusky. In his youth, Michael delivered messages for Western Union on his bike. He then worked for six years for Melroe Bobcat, and finally worked for 26 years with the Bismarck Public School System as a head custodian. He enjoyed going camping and traveling with his motorhome, spending time with his family, playing darts on a dart league, and walking his dog Penny. He is survived by his wife, Diane, Bismarck; three daughters, Shelley (Terry) Gross, Napoleon, Shannon Bauer, Minot, and Dawn (Dan) Johnson, Bismarck; one son, Stacey (Sandy) Bauer, Lincoln; two sisters, Mary Ann (Clayton) Felchle, Bismarck, and Marlys Schafer Washington; one brother, Marvin (Palma) Bauer, Bismarck; eight grandchildren, Sara (Chrys) Bitz, Kris (Bonnie) Bauer, Samantha (Steve) Urlacher, Darian Fuller, Jamie Gross, Myckea Gross, Maddie Bauer, and Zach Bauer; three great-grandchildren, Adison Bitz, Caylor Bitz, Bryar Bitz, and Jaxson Bauer (on the way); and numerous nieces and nephews; and faithful dog, Penny. Michael was preceded in death by his parents.
