Pansy C. Hargiss Obituary (1925

Pansy C. Hargiss, 92, Mandan, North Dakota, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan, with Rev. Chip Garrison officiating. A gathering of family and friends is scheduled for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, North Dakota. Pansy was born January 7, 1925, at Judson, North Dakota, to Carl and Katie (Nelson) Ritz. She was raised and educated in the Judson area. On December 16, 1944, she married Tommy Hargiss in Scottsboro, Alabama. Pansy taught Sunday School for 15 years, while raising her family. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, playing cards, listening to old-time and polka music, dancing, and cooking for her family. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Fisher, Mandan; three brothers, Herbert (Lucy) Ritz, Bismarck, James Ritz, Grand Junction, Colorado, and Edgar (Lavonne) Ritz, Billings, Montana; four grandchildren, Lisa (Larry) Titus, Michael (Christina) Hargiss, Renae (Ryan) Hawbaker, and Jason Fisher; seven great-grandchildren, Rebekah and Hannah Hawbaker, Kylee and Jonathan Titus, and Noah, Ella, and Owen Hargiss; sister-in-law, Nancy Hargiss, Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pansy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tommy; two sons, Larry and Garry Hargiss; nine brothers, Albert, George, Harvey, Henry, Carl Jr., Francis, Ralph, Claude, and Wallace Ritz; three sisters, Violet Schmitz, Alice Ritz, and Lillian Otto; and son-in-law, Robert Fisher, Jr. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, North Dakota.
