–

Mandan, North Dakota

On Sunday December 22, 2013, God called Peggy Knoll, 65, Bismarck, North Dakota, and she answered "I'm ready Lord" at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 PM, Thursday, December 26, 2013, at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck with Fr. Paul Becker officiating. The family will greet friends from 11:00 AM at the church until time of service with a light lunch being served before the service in the Fellowship Hall. Rosary will be said at noon. There will be no viewing, as cremation has taken place. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, at 2:00 PM. Margaret Lois "Peggy" was born August 23, 1948, at Mandan, to David and Colleen (Tobin) Connelly. She graduated from high school in Glendive, Montana, and received her bachelor of science in nursing from Mary College in 1970. She married Alan Knoll on August 29, 1970. They lived and worked in several hospitals in Montana and North Dakota before moving to Bismarck in 1975. Peggy taught at Bismarck School of Nursing for 11 years before becoming the first nurse practitioner at Mid Dakota Clinic in June 1985. For the next 28 years she was a friend, co-worker, and mentor, as well as nurse practitioner until she was forced to retire due to her health early in 2013. One of her proudest professional achievements was receiving Mid Dakota Clinic's "A Higher Standard Award" in 2010. She was a Eucharistic Minister at Corpus Christi Catholic Church and was active in Cursillo and 4th Day. Her faith and trust in God grew even stronger as she fought a long battle with cancer. Her husband Alan and son Aaron were her life's joy. She is survived by her husband, Alan; son Aaron; and parents, David and Colleen Connelly, all of Bismarck; sisters, Kathy (Bob) Walsh, Larimore, North Dakota, Linda Baker, Bismarck, Chris (Dale) Eckholm, Indian Land, South Carolina; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her grandparents and brother-in-law, Al Roller. In lieu of flowers, Peggy requested memorials be to God's Child. She and her entire family are grateful for the many friends who showed their love and support through this difficult journey.
