Philip "Richard" Senger Obituary (1935 - 2014)

Philip "Richard" Senger, 78, Bismarck, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, February 20, 2014, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Msgr. Gene Lindemann, officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, February 19, 2014, from 4-6:00 PM with a Vigil/Rosary service beginning at 6:00 PM, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, North Dakota. Richard was born July 17, 1935 at Bismarck, North Dakota, to Philip and Amelia (Kuntz) Senger. He was raised and educated in Bismarck. He served in the US Navy. On February 28, 1959 in Wibaux, Montana, he married Beverly Danley. Over the years he worked as a Millwright at Bethlehem Steele in Seattle, Washington and at Tyee Aircraft in Everett, Washington. In 1999 they moved back to Bismarck. He enjoyed listening to a variety of music, playing cards and taking his wife to Prairie Knights Casino to play Keno. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a patient, caring, loving man who cared about everyone whom cared for him. He was also very forgiving, and a man of faith. He forgave anyone who hurt him over the years. All it would have taken would've been a phone call to say I'm sorry or I love you but, time ran out. He is survived by his wife of 16 days shy of 55 years, Beverly, Bismarck; two daughters, Cheryl (Rick) Burns, Orting, WA, Jeanmarie (James) Senger-Gallaher, Port Angeles, WA; son, Richard (Kelly), Auburn, WA; three sisters, Irene (Butch) Welch, Hobson, MT, Francie (Bob) Barnhardt, Waverly, NB, Marilyn Benkendorf, Cottonwood, AZ; four brothers, David Senger, Lincoln, ND, Larry (Andi) Senger, Bismarck, ND, Frank (Gloria) Senger, Mandan, ND, Jerome Acosta, Mandan, ND; sisters-in-law, Joan Senger, Seattle, WA; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; two brothers-in-law, Roger Huft and Bob Bickel. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Killian Senger; grandson, Thomas Elmer Burns; three sisters, Charlotte Anderson, Vivian Roehrich, Marge Senger; brother, Maurice Senger, infant brother, Leonard; three sister-in-laws, Lynnette Huft, Judy Bickel, Patricia Danley; lifelong friends, Robert Diede and Leonard Wilson.
