Rae Gunn

Rae Gunn, 47, Bismarck, ND, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 PM, Thursday, April 18, 2024, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, 4211 Old Red Trail, Mandan with Pastor Marie Gunn officiating. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM, prior to the service. Burial will be in New Town City Cemetery, Friday, April 19, 2024, at Noon.

Rae Gunn was born March 18th, 1977, in Fort Yates, North Dakota, to Wilfred "Wolf" Red Tomahawk Sr. and Barbara Archambault. Her Academic career to her to various places. She earned her Associates of Applied Science at Bismarck State College, Bachelor of Business Administration at Dickinson State University, and ultimately her Master's Degree of Business Administration at the University of Mary. She had begun working toward her Doctoral degree, but due to her illness she had to leave the program.

She spent a majority of her career at United Tribes Technical College serving as the Director of Human Resources. It was a role she carried well into her sickness. She was a role model and confidante to many. Rae valued her education and upholding professionalism.

Rae enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She loved many things, such as, getting her nails done, taking coffee breaks, but shopping and trying different makeup was her favorite. She would often say a perfect night consisted of watching a movie with her family and her dogs at her side.

She is survived by her husband, Fred Gunn III, her children, Amira, Gage, and Garrett Gunn, her two fur-babies, Princess and Duchess, her mother Barbara Archambault, her mother-in-law, Marie Gunn, her younger brother, Wilfred "JR" Red Tomahawk Jr, and her favorite niece and nephews, Kash and Rowdy Red Tomahawk, and Syndal Baker.

Rae was preceded in death by her father, Wilfred Red Tomahawk Sr., her uncle, Wyman Archambault, her grandparents, Pete and Edna Rose Red Tomahawk Sr., and Leroy and Joyce Archambault.
