Raymond Johnson

–

Mandan, North Dakota

On July 15, 2024, Raymond Edward Johnson, lovingly known to many as Ray, departed from this world. Born in Carrington, ND on May 22, 1952, Raymond's life was full of love, laughter, and service. He was a man who lived his faith and loved his family with all his heart.

Raymond was a man of many talents. As a skilled butcher for M&W Beef Packers, he demonstrated a level of dedication and attention to detail that was truly remarkable. Beyond his profession, Raymond lived a life that was rich in experiences and relationships. He had a knack for making people laugh, and his generous spirit shone through in everything he did. Participating in softball, volleyball, and expressing his love for music through singing and dancing, Raymond's zest for life was truly infectious.

Deeply committed to his faith, Raymond's love for Jesus was the guiding force in his life. He actively participated in his local church, teaching Sunday School, leading Kid's Church, and singing with joy in the praise team. His favorite verse, John 15:12, “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you," reflected the way he lived his life - with love and kindness at the forefront.

Raymond is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Mary Johnson, and their loving daughters Kisa Kindsvogel (Jayar), Sara Moericke (Lance), Gina Geller and fairy godson, Bob Weigel. His legacy lives on in his grandchildren Eden, Ember, and Elsi Kindsvogel, Bailey and Brooks Leintz, Mason Moericke, and Cora, Isa, and Aunna Weigel. He also leaves behind his brother Lynn Johnson and sister Marion Rackley. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, David and Imogene Johnson, his sister Sylvia Peterson, and his in-laws Alex and Angie Schafer, and Sharon Schafer.

Raymond's life was a testament to the power of faith, the importance of family, and the joy of a life well-lived. His love for Jesus and family distinguished him as a man of exceptional character. Raymond was a funny, generous, thoughtful, and loving individual who touched the lives of many. His memory will forever be a blessing and an inspiration to all who knew him.

We invite family and friends to share memories and upload photos to Raymond's memorial page to celebrate his life. Let us remember Raymond and honor his legacy in the way he would have wanted - with love, laughter, and a shared sense of community.
