Rosella Zahn Obituary (1931 - 2025) - Bismarck, North Dakota

Rosella Zahn, 94, Bismarck, passed away July 7, 2025, at St. Benedictine’s Care Center. Private services are planned with burial will be in McKenzie Cemetery. Rosella was born on June 5, 1931, to Florence and Valentine Zahn. She was the second of nine children. Rosella lived most of her life in the family home in McKenzie, a place that brought her great happiness. She dedicated over 40 years to a career in caregiving, including the special opportunity to care for Harold Schafer’s mother and her own brother Glen. In her later years, Rosella resided at Patterson Place before moving to St. Benedictine’s. One of the highlights of her week was when her brother Jim brought her a Frappuccino every Saturday morning. Rosella is survived by her siblings Coletta (Russ) Lindblom, Jim (Jackie) Zahn, and Joyce (Russ) Christiansen, all of Bismarck, and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Valentine Zahn, and her brothers Bernie, Ted, Doug, and Glen Zahn. She will be dearly missed. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Benedictine’s Care Center for the excellent care provided to Rosella over the past five years, with special appreciation for her caregiver Amanda, who meant the world to her.
