Sterling Lee Magilke Obituary (2016

Sterling Lee Magilke, infant, Solen, North Dakota, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 PM, Friday, November 4, 2016, at DaWise Perry Funeral Services with Rev. Dale Nabben officiating. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service. Cremation has taken place. Sterling was born September 1, 2016, at Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Wyett Magilke and Jessica Ehlers. He was born with a heart defect where the valve that takes blood from his heart to his lungs wasn\u0027t formed correctly. Sterling underwent open heart surgery at thirteen days old at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. After surgery Sterling went into cardiac arrest and was placed on full life support where he remained for one week. After this one week, he was able to do well without life support for another ten days before he went into cardiac arrest again was returned to full life support. He was on life support for another week before being healthy enough to survive without the full support the machine gave him. For almost two weeks his parents were able to hold and enjoy their sweet little boy. On the morning of October 19th, Sterling gained his angel wings after a courageous and tough fight. He will forever be our miracle baby. He is survived by his parents, Wyett and Jessica; grandparents, Junior Magilke, Terry and Nikki Brandt, and Harry and Mary Ehlers; Aunts and Uncles, Tate and Hadley Magilke, Dalton Magilke, Kinley Brandt, and Seth Ehlers.
