Steven Benoit

Steven Benoit, 60, Fort Yates, North Dakota, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015, at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 8, 2015, in the AJ Agard Memorial Building, Fort Yates, North Dakota. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Steve was born June 24, 1955, at McLaughlin, South Dakota, to Albert and Elizabeth (Alkire) Benoit. He was raised and educated in Corpus Christi, Texas, and graduated from Richard King High School in 1973. He served in the US Air force as a jet mechanic from August 1974 until August 1980. He continued as an aviation mechanic and traveled the world until 2003. Steve was a graduate of Sitting Bull College in 2005, and worked for Rock Industries as a Quality Assurance Manager. He was an avid reader, and also enjoyed scuba diving, hunting, fishing, golfing, and going to the casino.

He is survived by three sisters, Marlys (Xavier) Gonzalez, Annette Eden and partner, Marianne Morgan, and Roberta Benoit, all of Corpus Christi, Texas; nieces, Allison and Erin Eden, Shelby Benoit (Shane Abalos), and Stevie Benoit; nephews, Eric Gonzalez (Victoria Palomo), Nick (Amy) Gonzalez, Chase Leedom, and Jeremy (Clarissa) Spear; grandnieces, Tinley Abalos and Samantha Carrion; and grandnephew, Malcolm Gonzalez.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Elizabeth Benoit; and brother, David Benoit.
