Suzan LeAnn Toepke Obituary (1952 - 2022)

Suzan passed away on April 4th, 2022, from the complications of pancreatic cancer. She was born on September 29th, 1952, in Kansas City, KS to Richard and Ileana Carpenter. Sue grew up in Kansas City and then moved to Garden City, KS as a teenager. That is where she met a young man by the name of Leslie Toepke. They married on May 29th, 1969. They then moved to Mandan, ND right after their marriage. February 2, 1971, they welcomed their firstborn, a son name Travis. Dawn was welcomed to the family a short 20 months later on October 2, 1972. They thought their family was complete. That is until they decided to add one more. Corinne came along on November 29, 1979. Sue loved her family more than anything in the world. She was delighted to become a Grandma. Her grandkids loved her very much. Royce, Mercedes, Hunter, Brandi and Bentley will miss her love and support. She then was graced with a great-granddaughter, Amari and couldn't have been happier. Nothing delighted her more than to read a good book or play a good game and put a puzzle together. She loved going for walks whenever she could. Her "obsession" with blue and white china is well known. She would never turn down a cup of coffee and McDonald's. Her friends and family will miss her cooking and baking. Her cheesecake was legendary. Everyone who met her felt her positive attitude and her love. In November of 1972, she dedicated her life to Jehovah in baptism. She was comforted with the knowledge of waking up in a Paradise earth. Pain free and to live forever in that beautiful earth. She delighted in Revelation 21:4 - " He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more". She is survived by her husband, Les Toepke. Her children, Travis (Debbie) Toepke of Mandan, ND. Dawn (Eric) Neal of Rapid City, SD. Corinne (Dave) Green of Killarney, Manitoba. Her 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Her sisters, Michelle Smith of Garden City, KS and Bridget Proskie of Euless, TX. And many more wonderful people who will miss her dearly. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
