Victor Ternes

Victor Ternes, 75, passed away, Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Missouri Slope, Bismarck.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at DaWise Perry Mandan Crematory. Burial will follow at Mandan Union Cemetery.

Victor was born on January 25, 1950, the oldest of 13 children to Lenus and Edna, (Metcalf), Ternes. He was raised in Flasher. In 1972 he moved to Texas and worked many years for Hill & Wilkenson General Contractors. While in Texas he enjoyed many hunting seasons at the hunting lease he shared with good friends, as well as a day at the horse track.

In 2022 he moved back to North Dakota. Every day he missed Texas and was a true Dallas Cowboy fan. Victor loved a good meal, especially a good steak, and he was not shy about letting you know if it wasn’t to his liking.

Victor is survived by his siblings, Jeanette (Ron) Parham, Jeffery, Deanna (LaVern) Miller, Brian (Julie), Brendan (Carol), Anita, and Art (Kay); brothers-in-law; Cletus Fuchs and Duane Martin; sister-in-law, Marilyn Ternes. and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lenus and Edna; siblings, Chris, Kevin, Anselm, Carol Martin, and Marilyn Fuchs.
