Viergela Durocher Obituary (1921 - 2023)

Viergela Durocher, 101, Bismarck, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at a local Care Center. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, February 20, 2023, at DaWise Perry/Mandan Crematory, Mandan. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. A Visitation is scheduled for 2:00 - 4:00 PM, Sunday, February 19, 2023, at DaWise-Perry / Mandan Crematory, 4211 Old Red Trail, Mandan. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Viergela was born May 14, 1921, in Haiti, to Seth and Hermancia Alcinois. She was raised and educated in Cuba, before returning to Haiti and eventually immigrating to the US and lived in Florida and eventually to North Dakota with family. She was united in marriage to Dieujuste Durocher and together they have seven children. She enjoyed cooking, singing, flowers but mostly spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by six children, Gonas (Eve) Durocher, Claude Durocher, Fito (Marie) Durocher, Anmarie Durocher, Edith Durocher, and Larry Durocher; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, and nephews. Viergela was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Antoine; other relatives.
