Violetta Wetzel Obituary (1933

Violetta Wetzel, 80, Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013, at St. Alexius Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Thursday, February 21, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with Rev. Thomas R. Marcis officiating. Visitation is scheduled for 4-8:00 PM, Wednesday, February 20, 2013, with a prayer service beginning at 7:30 PM, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Bismarck. Violetta was born January 7, 1933, at Goodrich, North Dakota, to George and Christina (Will) Zeeb Sr. She lived on the family farm until moving with her parents to Bismarck in 1943. She graduated from Bismarck High in 1951, and began working in the North Dakota Tax Department where she worked for 16 years. In 1964, she married Elmer Wetzel. They moved to Brooklyn Center, MN, in 1967, and she worked as a legal secretary, to Phoenix, Arizona in 1971, where she worked for a legal firm, and returned to Bismarck in 1976 and worked for Vocational Rehabilitation until her retirement in 2009. Violetta enjoyed crocheting, watching old westerns, going shopping, talking on the phone with friends, and spending time with her family. She is survived by Elmer; two daughters, Sheri (Russell) Lewis, and Allison (Christopher) Bader, all of Bismarck; three brothers, Al Zeeb, Lodi, California, George and Fred Zeeb, both of Bismarck; two grandchildren, Dylan and Garrett Bader; and numerous nieces and nephews. Violetta was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Sam, Ray, and Leo Zeeb, Philip, Herbert, Edwin, and Oscar Ebel; and one sister, Erna Koenig.
