Vivian Edna Harpster

Vivian Edna, Harpster,100, Bismarck, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017, at St. Vincent Care Center, Bismarck. Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery is planned.

Vivian was born July 24, 1917, at Devils Lake, North Dakota, to Tom and Maude (Puin) Kelly. She was raised and educated in Hampden, North Dakota, where she graduated from high school. On October 20, 1939, she married Dresden Harpster, in Devils Lake. She enjoyed sewing, and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by one son, Mike (Diane) Harpster, Bismarck; one sister, Julia Berg, Bemidji, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Tammi Harpster, and Todd Harpster, both of Bismarck; and three great-grandchildren, Casey, Shelby, and Courtney Harpster.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and five brothers, Bob, Harold, Gordon, Fred, and Ray Kelly.
